Part-time Assistant Librarian
The Royal Irish Academy seeks applications from suitably qualified candidates for the part-time position of Assistant Librarian. Full details of the work of the Academy are available on the Academy website www.ria.ie The appointment will be made on the basis of a fixed term contract ending September 2008.

The successful candidate will have a primary degree and approved library studies qualification. A minimum of three years’ satisfactory cataloguing and general library experience is essential. She/he should have excellent communication and IT skills.

Reporting to the Deputy Librarians duties will include :-

q Cataloguing books, offprints and other materials as required.
q Organising the binding of antiquarian books and of periodicals.
q Assisting in the management of the reprographic activities.
q Assisting in the preparation of exhibitions.
q Assisting with Readers’ Services and the supervision of the Reading Room.
q Other professional duties as may be required from time to time.
Salary Scale (Full-time) : €35,606 to € 47,590 (7 points). Salary on entry will depend on experience and will be paid pro-rata to full-time rate.
