Social Media Marketer – ALISON Evangelist

This is just about the coolest marketing job we could imagine someone having. It’s a position for a person with unique vision, creativity and bundles of energy.

You know MySpace, Facebook, Xanga, YouTube, Second Life et al like the back of your hand. You’re the first to discover the latest online buzz, you have many online friends, and you regard yourself as a digital native. Ideally, you also have experience with more traditional media and PR as well as experience in an Internet or Web-based role, including online organising, Web site development and implementing online campaigns. Blogging experience, effective writing skills, marketing, journalism, RSS and HTML knowledge are a huge plus.

You will work with a team to generate ‘buzz’ for ALISON, a free e-learning service. This is not sales as it is primarily a free service. However you will use your creativity to find interesting ways of introducing the service online and to stay connected and tuned in to key influencers. You will be the primary innovator driving the creation of a thriving online ALISON community of connected learners. As an ALISON Evangelist you will be relentless about spreading the ALISON message.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Build real and authentic relationships with key influencers in social networks, and use them to get the word out about ALISON

* Pitch ALISON to our target audience

* Reach out to learners, connect them, inform them, share tips, build an online community of learners

* Use blogs, RSS, e-newsletters, and other means to reach potential and existing learners

* Create fun product pages on various social networks and keep them up-to-date. Post relevant information to forums and message boards

* Help plan and execute creative guerrilla marketing campaigns

* Pay attention to entertainment news to help generate topical pop culture references and stunts to generate buzz.

* Develop and optimize e-mail campaigns

* Monitor buzz, news, growth, and create appropriate reporting for tracking

* Analyse and report competition’s social marketing activities, and, suggest a course of action to beat the competition

Required Experience and Skills:

* A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent career experience

* PR and/or a Web-based role in online organizing, Web site development, or implementing online campaigns

* Tech savvy, comfortable with MS Office and contact management software

* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common projection and tracking reports, budgets, and programme documents

* Excellent writing skills

* You must have an edge! We can’t define it, but we recognize it when we see it!

Desired Experience and Skills:

* Blogging experience, marketing, journalism, RSS-experience are a huge plus.

The Direct Sales Executive role will undertake the following tasks:

* Sell direct advertising, promotions and sponsorships

* Create and build strong working relationships with direct clients

* Meet and exceed revenue targets set by the company

* Generate own leads and maintain database on a daily basis

* Cold-call potential clients on a national platform

* Complete all paperwork in a timely and professional manner and in compliance with company procedures

Job : Researcher – Newstalk  -  Program : Lunchtime with Eamon Keane

Key Tasks:

* To generate and develop ideas for the programme and to research items as per recommendation by the Producer.

* To deal with breaking news quickly so that it gets to air accurately and first.

* To edit relevant sound clips for the programme

* To break news stories and develop new angles on existing stories.

* To assist the Producer in all activities pertaining to the programme while it is on-air including editing and researching of items.

* To source new voices for the programme.

* To write scripts and collate briefing material for the presenter.

* To take and screen calls from listeners while the programme is on-air

* 9.To manage and administrate all competition prize winners

* to ensure that winners receive their prize in a timely and

* professional manner.

* To carry out vox pops and report into the programme

* To meet and greet contributors to the programme.

* To co ordinate and develop podcasts.

* Other ad hoc administration duties

Qualifications / Experience:

Essential:

* Minimum of 2 year’s experience in journalism, preferably with broadcast experience

* A knowledge of current affairs

* An established database/ Contacts

* Excellent PC skills encompassing Word and Outlook

* Ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines

* Team player

* Excellent telephone manner

* Well organised and be able to work on one’s own initiative

Desirable:

* An interest in talk radio

* Sense of humour

* An ability to multi-task
