Job Description:

Preparation of detailed technical drawings for construction. Preparation of planning application drawings and/or presentation drawings from sketch designs prepared by principal architect. Inspection of works under construction on site. Preparation of survey drawings for existing buildings. To assist generally with various office duties. The candidate must be fully proficient in AutoCad. The candidate should hold a current safe pass.

Contract type:  Full Time  – Days per week: 5

Hours per week: 37.5  – Daily Hours: 7.5

Start date: Immediate

Experience Required: Fully Experienced.  Minimum: 3 Years.

Transport is required for this position

Education Requirements:    Third Level Bsc.Arch

Salary: To be advised

Irish Construction Jobs to be cut

The rate of unemployment in Ireland has increased this year and is set to grow significantly over the next two years, with the construction sector experiencing the most job losses, according to the FÁS.In its quarterly labour market report, the State training and employment agency has predicted unemployment will climb to 5.5% this year, before hitting 6.6% in 2009.

Economist Brian McCormick said that men will be worst affected due to their large numbers in the declining construction and manufacturing sectors.

FAS estimate that the construction sector could experience a loss of up to 37,000 jobs in 2008 . The report also revealed that since the beginning of this year the number of construction-related apprentices has fallen by over a half, compared to the same period in 2007.
