The Defence Forces in Ireland are hoping to recruit 860 new entrants in 2017. The jobs will be in the Army, Air Corps and Navy.
The recruitment campaign is part of the Government’s commitment to maintaining the level of the Defence Forces at 9,500 personnel.
The succesful applicants will start as general service recruits, apprentices and cadets. In 2016 there were 690 new defence forces personnel,
The first of these competition streams, general enlistment, is now open on the Defence Forces website at www.military.ie
Army applicants must be at least 18 years old and under the age of 25 years of age on the closing date for applications.
Naval Service applicants must be at least 18 years old and under the age of 27 years of age on the closing date for applications.
The closing date for this competition is 23:59hrs on the Wednesday 5th April 2017.
