Septic Tank Inspection Jobs

With the new regulations on Septic Tank Registration and Inspection – which will be implemented in early 2012 – there will probably be plenty of new jobs in the area of waste treatment plant and septic tank  inspection . Some firms are already offering training courses in Septic Tank maintenance and inspection in Ireland.
It mightturn out like the BER courses – where there were too many inspectors and not enough work.

Owners of properties served by septic tanks and other on-site wastewater treatment systems will be required to operate and maintain their systems correctly and to have those systems subjected to an inspection at specified intervals to ensure that they are functioning efficiently. Inspections will be carried out under the new system by competent inspectors. The new system will have to establish performance standards and these standards must apply to all on-site systems.

Census Jobs at CSO

The Central Statistics Office will be running the Irish Census in 2011 – and have already taken  applications for vacancies for the 5000 enumerators.

The Census date is April 10th 2011
The job of enumerator will require you to distribute the census forms to homes in advance of April 10th and then return to collect them once the census has taken place.
You’ll also be required to answer questions that people might have. Successful candidates should be available to work at different times of day and also at weekends in order to ensure that all forms are distributed and collected in person.

Contract Dates : 8th March 2011 – 13th May 2011

When you can apply: 4 January – 11 January 2011 – but unfilled posts may still be available after 11th Jan

Hours and Pay

Payment will be on a fee / allowance basis. Enumerators can expect to typically earn €2,200 on average, for their work during this 10 week period, made up as follows:

* Weekly advance: €100 (paid in arrears)

* Training allowance: €135

* Fees per forms delivered/collected: Variable

* Summarisation: €215

* Terminal Bonus: €420

* Home storage allowance: €140

* Sunday and bank holiday work allowance: €200

* Travel Allowance: Variable

The Census Enumeration Area usually comprises about 400 households
