Intreo.ie New Jobseekers Service

Intreo is the name for a new agency to support Jobseekers in Ireland. The name seems to come from the fact that it is supposed to be an INTegRated One Stop Shop for Jobseekers.   Or it could be to do with the Irish for “Direction”  – which is “Treo” .
The general idea is that instead of registering for welfare payments with one agency and then registering at another agency for help with getting jobs or training – now it is all carried out by the same agency. FAS will no longer be involved .

Interestingly  – Google thinks  that searchers for Intreo.ie are probably looking for a dating site Intro.ie  ! S so they will probably see business booming over the next few months.
Intreo.com seems to be linkd to a US based building automation company.

INTREO was officially launched on  15th October 2012 and is being called a “integrated employment and support service”
It is part of the  Department of Social Protection and aims to  provides individualised supports to jobseekers to assist them in getting back to work and increasing their employability.

Some of the actions will include

• Activation measures including client profiling, and one-to-one meetings focused on customised employment supports and monitoring of client’s progress.

• Integrated reception providing a one-stop shop incorporating all strands of the Department’s employment and income support services.

• A ‘social contract’ between the service and its clients.

The Intreo service is  only  available in Sligo, Arklow, Tallaght and Kings Inn/Parnell Street. Other areas in which the service will become available before the end of the year, include Ballymun, Buncrana, Dundalk, Coolock, Finglas and Killarney.
