Location: CLAREMORRIS

Duties: Instruction on use of equipment. Maintaining a clean, healthy, hygienic environment for all staff & users. Cashiering and administration of memberships. To know and be proficient with all chemicals & detergents available for use in Leisure centre. Maintain good working relationship with all Staff & Guests. Be vigilant and aware of dangers of accidents associated with Leisure Centre and proactive in hazard analysis. Register all users. Clean all areas of Leisure Centre nightly. Lock & double check security of Leisure Centre before leaving. Sorting and stocking of towels & merchandise.

Skills Required

An NCEF or NCEHS qualification or equivalent essential. IWS/ILAM Pool Lifeguard and Current First Aid Qualification essential. Pool plant qualification and experience. Exercise class experience essential. Relevant experience in a similar role in the health and leisure sector. Candidates must have good customer service skills and be genuinely interested in providing good quality service to our members.

Description:

Leisure Specialist – The Arena Health and Fitness Club. The Arena Health and Fitness Club currently requires a Leisure Specialist to join its team. The ideal candidate shall have: A recognized gym and aerobic qualification, NCEF, ITEC, NCEHS or equivalent; Previous experience of working in a gym environment, programming and evaluating clients; Previous experience in teaching aerobic classes would be an advantage; Current RLSS/IWS Pool Lifeguard qualification; Current ILAM Ireland Pool Plant Operators Course certificate would be an advantage; Current Swimming Teaching qualification; Some previous experience of working in a pool environment, pool tests, chemicals handling; etc.; Previous experience of teaching would be an advantage. The ideal candidate shall be enthusiastic and enjoy working within a team environment, but have the initiative to work alone. Please note that this is a permanent, full-time role which will include shift and weekend work.

Main entrance doors in Block 6+7 to be locked when on lunch break and to re-open after lunch break. Squash reservation books and sign in/out books must be placed on the desk at the start of duty. Squash Court books will be fully marked for the coming 2 weeks. Rubbish bags in the following areas to be checked and replaced when necessary. Ladies and Gents changing rooms, Swimming pool, Office Area Gymnasium and Corridor, Study room, Entrance to recreation centre, Toilets in the gymnasium are to be checked regularly for supplies etc, Provide lifeguard cover as requested including Saturdays, Main entrance doors in Block 6+7 to be locked on completion of shift, keys to be signed back in to security.
