Water meters are gong to be fitted in maost homes in  Ireland over the next 3 years. That is expected to create about 2000 jobs for water meter installers.
Several companies are offering training courses in water meter installation – but it should be an easy job for any plumber or heating engineer who is looking for work.

Under the direction of an Operations engineer, the Technician III plans, implements and tests, new product or process tasks. This position provides tooling, drafts documents for document control to expedite projects and works to improve current products and manufacturing processes. This position is responsible for practicing Quality System Manual procedures and complying with its requirements, and carrying out responsibilities as outlined in safety, health and environmental policies. Quality System Procedures (QSPs) that apply to all positions are noted in the AMS Employee Handbook.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum 2 year vo-tech pre-engineering

- Preferred 4 year degree in engineering related field

EXPERIENCE

- 2 years technical experience with a 2-year Vo-tech or advanced degree

SKILLS

- Working knowledge of basic programming, computer data collection systems and computer interfacing

- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems

- Ability to work with Visio or Cad Cam

- Ability to transform vocabulary into effective process language

Sales and Commercial Focus

- Perform all register functions in line with company policy

- Maintain stock levels in order to maximise sales

- Promote specific lines under the guidance of management

Stock Management

- Assist in unpacking and checking off of new deliveries.

- Use information available to assist in laying out the department in relation to sales.

- Ensure that all stock is correctly priced and that pricing procedures are carried out in line with company policy

Merchandising

- Re-organise merchandise as directed by Department Manager/ Supervisor

- Promote specific lines under the guidance of Management

- Maintain department presentation in line with company guidelines

Operating Standards

- Maintain standards throughout the day and complete recovery daily

- Operate fitting room procedures in line with company policy

- Ensure pricing and ticketing procedures are carried out in line with company policy

- Carry out stock take procedures in line with company policy

Customer Service

- Demonstrate good customer service at all times

- In the event of a customer complaint or query react in a professional and courteous manner, elevating the issue to senior management where necessary

Tesco to create 748 new Jobs in Ireland

Tesco Ireland is to open seven new stores in Ireland – which will create 748 jobs.

Tesco Ireland already employs 13,400 staff in 120 stores , said the new stores would open  over the next 12 months.

The biggest of the new shops will be  in Naas, Kildare and will employ 266 staff.

The rest of the jobs will come from new stores in Kinnegad, Westmeath (80 jobs), Oranmore, Galway (110), Swinford, Mayo (90), Ballybeg, Waterford (110), Thomas St, Dublin (16) and Kimmage, Dublin (16).

The investment plan also includes a replacement store in Roscrea, Tipperary that will result in 60 additional jobs.
